We are graduate student research and teaching employees at the University of Pennsylvania who formed a union to improve our working conditions at Penn and to strengthen our collective voice as teaching and research assistants locally and nationally. In November 2025, we voted overwhelmingly in favor of authorizing a strike. On February 17, 2026, on the eve of our strike deadline, graduate workers reached a fair agreement for our first contract with the Penn administration. On February 27, we overwhelmingly ratified this agreement as our first union contract. Now, Grad Workers are signing up as dues paying members of GETUP-UAW Local 5124.
