Bargaining Portal
Graduate Employees are negotiating to improve our working conditions and enshrine these rights and benefits in a legally-enforceable contract. The involvement of every single Graduate Employee is critical to our success. Whatever we win in our contract, we win together. To move on important issues, Penn administration will need to see that Graduate Employees are united, mobilized, informed, and serious about our bargaining demands. The more graduate student teaching and research employees that participate in the bargaining process, the better positioned we are collectively to negotiate for a contract that will serve all of us effectively.
In Column A you’ll find names of all the contract articles that have currently been proposed. If there is a document in Column B next to it, that means that admin and grad workers have reached a tentative agreement. That version of the article will be incorporated into the full tentative agreement for the contract, which all graduate workers will then vote whether to ratify or reject. Beginning in Column C, you will see the progress of bargaining. As bargaining proceeds, both sides make modifications to article proposals until we reach an agreement. The proposals with a light gray background are those introduced by grad workers, and the proposals with the dark gray background are those introduced by admin. Sometimes, admin or grad workers will propose several articles at once in a “package.” Those packages are lined at the bottom, in addition to being linked in the rows for each individual article.
